About us

 

At Greater Bethel AMEC, our Great People are what make us Great. We are a local congregation of the Western New Orleans- Baton Rouge District of the Louisiana Conference of the 8th District (consisting of Louisiana and Mississippi) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. We invite you to join us as we Worship and Work for the Lord. We are located in the City of St. Francisville, LA in the Parish of West Feliciana. We are located off of HWY 61 between Baton Rouge, LA and Woodville, MS.

 

We are a Congragation of Believers, who strive to fulfill the Great Commission. We have spirited Worship Services weekly, Sundays at 8:45 a.m. We gather together for Church School at 8 a.m. every Sunday, except the First Sunday of each month, when we have Holy Communion. Every Tuesday at 6 p.m. we have in-depth Bible Study.

The AME Church has an itinerant clergy. Our current pastor is Rev. Marques Smith.  He is a South Louisiana native having been reared and educated in Ascension Parish. He has contiuned his education at Chicago Theological Seminary, pursing his Master of Divinity.
